This stitch is a very easy, airy lace pattern made from only 2 repeating rows.
Perfect for shawls, blouses, scarves, table runners, cardigans, etc.

- Hook size recommended with your yarn (2.5–3.5 mm works beautifully)

✨ STEP-BY-STEP PATTERN
Foundation Row
- ch a multiple of 6 + 3
- dc in the 4th chain from hook
- ch 1, skip 1 chain, dc in next chain
Repeat Step 3 to the end.
Turn.
This creates a mesh base.

Row 1 (Fan Row)
- ch 3 (counts as dc)
- dc in next dc
- Into next ch-1 space: work 5 dc (this forms a fan)
- dc in each of the next 2 dc stitches
Repeat:
5 dc in next space,
dc in next 2 dc...
Turn.
Row 2 (Chain Arches Row)
- ch 5 (counts as dc + ch2)
- dc into the 3rd dc of the fan (the center stitch of the 5-dc group)
- ch 3
- dc in the center dc of the next fan
- ch 2
- dc in each of the next 2 dc
Repeat across:
dc in center of fan,
ch3,
dc in center of next fan...
End with:
ch2, dc in last dc.
Turn.
