🌸 Step-by-Step Instructions

Foundation Row

  1. Make multiples of 6 + 1 chains.
  2. Insert hook into 2nd chain from hook and sc.
  3. sc in every chain across.
    Turn.

This creates a strong base edge.

Row 1 β€” Shell Row

  1. ch 3 (counts as dc), turn.
  2. sk next 2 sts.
  3. In the next stitch, work 5 dc into same stitch (this is a shell).
  4. sk next 2 sts.
  5. sc in next stitch.
  6. sk next 2 sts, 5 dc in next st (shell again).
  7. Repeat steps 4–6 across the row.

End the row with:

sk 2 sts, dc in last stitch.

Row 2 β€” Reinforce & Lift

  1. ch 3, turn.
  2. dc in same stitch.
  3. sc into the center stitch of the shell below (the 3rd dc of the 5-dc shell).
  4. In the sc between shells, work: 5 dc.
  5. sc in center of next shell.
  6. Repeat across until end.
  7. End with 2 dc in the last stitch.

Turn.

πŸ” Pattern Repeat

From now on, just repeat Row 2 continuously:

Row 2: 2 dc, sc into center of shell, 5 dc in next sc, repeat.

That’s it β€” the blanket grows beautifully and evenly ✨

🌼 Visual Pattern Logic

The 5-dc shell always goes into the sc of the previous row.
And the sc always goes into the center of the shell.

So the shells stack neatly and create pretty waves.
